Walk in Interview for multiple recruitments at IIVR, Varanasi

The Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR), Varanasi is a constituent body of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). This is a major Institute devoted to research on vegetables and is situated in the greater periphery of the Holy city - Varanasi. Vegetable research was given impetus through establishment of AICRP on vegetable crops during 1971 at IARI,  New Delhi with the responsibilities of coordinating and monitoring of vegetable research programmes of the country. 

It is proposed to fill one contractual position of Research Associate, three contractual positions of Senior Research Fellows (SRF) and one contractual position of Project Fellow in different research projects at this Institute through interview etc. The eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling the requirements may appear before the Selection Committee for interview etc. on 04.10.2014 at 10.00 A.M. at this Institute

  • Project : Gene expression studies and development of functional markers for anthracnose disease in Capsicum species
  • Position : Project Fellow
  • No of Post : One
  • Desired Profile : Post Graduate Degree in Genetics, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Vegetable Science, Plant Pathology, Botany
  • Preferred : Experience of Molecular Plant Breeding and computer skill.
  • Project : Evaluation of high yielding varieties/ hybrids of cucurbitaceous vegetables for river bed (diara land) cultivation and standardization of their agro-techniques
  • Position : SRF
  • No of Post : One
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc. (Ag.) in Vegetable Science or M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture specialization in Vegetable Crops
  • Preferred : Working experience and knowledge of Computer
  • Project : Development and validation of effective formulation(s) of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) having multicide mechanisms for pest management in vegetables
  • Position : SRF
  • No of Post : One
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc. (Ag.) in Microbiology, Plant Pathology or M.Sc. in Microbiology or Botany with specialization in Microbiology or Plant Pathology.
  • Preferred : Minimum two years work experience on Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR); field surveys, isolation and maintenance of plant pathogens and biocontrol strains; development of formulation and evaluation of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria; proficiency in computer and data

Pay :

  • Rs. 23000/- p.m. + HRA for M.Sc. and Rs. 24000/- p.m. + HRA for Ph.D. as per rules for Research Associate.
  • Rs. 14000/- p.m. fixed + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 16000 + HRA for 3rd year for Non-Gate/Non NET candidaets and Rs. 16000/- p.m. fixed + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 18000 + HRA for 3rd year for Gate/GPAT/NET candidates as per rules for Project Fellow.
  • Rs. 16000/- p.m. fixed + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 18000 + HRA for 3rd year as per rules for Senior Research Fellow
