NIFTEM is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI)Government of India. MoFPI in its Vision document-2015, envisaged creation of a world-class institution to cater to the various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, food processing industry, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institution. NIFTEM will work actively for assisting in setting up food standards, businesses incubation and can also include knowledge sharing. It would also be an apex institution in the field of food technology and management, networking and co-ordinating with other institutions in the same field in India and Abroad.
Recruitment advertisement for the regular post of Quality Assurance Manager, Senior Analyst and Junior Analyst in Food Testing Laboratory
Position 1 : Quality Assurance Manager (FTL + PP)
- No of Post : 1
- Pay Scale : PB-3 + Grade pay Rs 5400/-
- Maximum Age : 40 years
- Desired Profile : P.G. in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Technology with 55% marks
- Preferred : PhD in the relevant area. Internal auditor course as per ISO/IEC17025
- Experience : 5 to 7 years in the role of quality assurance/quality control executive in NABL quality control laboratory; should have adequate knowledge of : 1) Relevant national and international food standards. 2)Requirements and conditions for accredition to ISO/IEC 17025. 3) Conducting quality audits
- Duties and Responsibilites : The quality assurance manager will be responsible for maintaining quality systems and handling of quality tools, contract review, calibration and validation of equipments, proficiency testing and QC checks and conduct audits in the lab. He/She will also attend to any other work that may be assigned by the General Manager/Dean or Chair of the respective department.

Position 2 : Senior Analyst (FTL)
- No of Post : 2
- Pay Scale : PB-3 + Grade pay Rs 5400/-
- Maximum Age : 35 years
- Desired Profile : M.Sc in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science and Food Technology with 55% marks
- Preferred : PhD in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science and Food Technology.
- Experience : At least 3 years experience in working in a NABL accredited food testing laboratory of repute with areas of expertise in : 1) Operation of sophisticated analytical Instruments : GC,HPLC,GC-MS,LC-MS/MS, AAS for their application for characterization of food components and safety and quality evaluation of food products, undertaking studies for shelf life and packaging studies 2) Chemical microbiological analysis of food products 3) Preparation of SOPs and other quality documetns for NABL accreditation 4) New analytical method development as per EU norms for food products for exports 6) Calculations of uncertainities, participation in proficiency testing etc
- Duties and Responsibilites : The Senior Analyst will undertake routine analysis of food products using chemical and instrumental methods, preparation of SOPs and other quality documents for NABL accreditions, equipment calibration and maintenance,development and validation of methods.He/She will assist the Professor in teaching, research, testing, pilot plants and incubation center activities, theme centers, coordination etc as the case may be. He/She will also attend to any other work that may be assigned by the Dean or Chair of the respective Department.

Position 3 : Junior Analyst (FTL)
- No of Post : 2
- Pay Scale : PB-3 + Grade pay Rs 4800/-
- Maximum Age : 30 years
- Desired Profile : M.Sc in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science and Food Technology with 55% marks
- Preferred : PhD in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science and Food Technology.
