About the University:
Nottingham's first civic college was opened in the city centre in 1881, four years after the foundation stone was laid by former Prime Minister, W E Gladstone. An anonymous benefactor had offered £10,000 for a college on condition that a suitable building be erected by the Council and that the college should be provided with £4,000 a year.

Applications are invited to the above role to perform research and help to disseminate findings on a project funded bythe KAUST CRG grant entitled “Evolution of Common Gene Regulatory Mechanisms from Chromeric Alga to Apicomplexian Protists: evaluating the Role of the RAP Family of RNA Binding Proteins in Malaria Parasite ” under the supervision of Dr Rita Tewari.
The research will involve gene targeting using malaria parasite, manipulating parasite development in host, and mostly biochemical, Cell Biology and in vitro culture assays to study parasite cell division.
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in relevant subject area – molecular parasitology, Microbiology, Cell Biology and genetics etc
This full time fixed term role is available from 1 April 2016 to 30 June 2017
