The institute had a humble beginning in 1954 in the form of a Contraceptive Testing Unit. Over the years, the Institute has made significant strides to develop newer contraceptives, both for the male and the female; generate information on the safety, efficacy and acceptability of available contraceptives in Indian population; and elucidate basic mechanisms underlying reproductive physiology.

Title of Project : Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRUS) in the State of Maharashtra under the Scheme of “Development of Infrastructure for Promotion of Health Research” to be posted at Sub District Hospital, Dahanu Dist. Palghar.

Desired Profile : First Class Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences subjects from a recognized university with 4 years R&D/teaching experience in the above subjects after 1st Class Master Degree. OR Second Class M.Sc. + Ph.D. degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology subjects from a recognized university with 4 years R&D/teaching experience in the relevant subject after M.Sc. + Ph.D.
Preferred : Additional Postdoctoral research / teaching experience in relevant subjects in recognized Institute(s); Knowledge of Computer Applications; Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Reproductive Biology.
Stipend : Rs 55,000/- pm
Age : Not exceeding 40 years
Duration : Initially for one year
