The Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), PAU campus, Ludhiana, Punjab, India was established as a nodal Institute to undertake lead researches in the area of the post-harvest engineering and technology appropriate to agricultural production catchment and agro-industries. Its mandate is to research for solving problems and identifying technologies related to post-harvest loss assessment and prevention, processing, value addition and storage of agricultural, horticultural, livestock and aquaculture produce targeted to achieve food safety and quality assurance.

Qualification: Master degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering/ Structural Engineering, Nano-Technology/ Nano-Science/ Food Process Engineering/ Post– Harvest Engineering & Technology / Agricultural Process Engineering / Food Processing Engineering/ Dairy & Food Engineering / Agricultural Engineering/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ Bio Chemistry/ Food Microbiology or equivalent in relevant discipline with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree. Candidates having post graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course with two years of research experience for SRF.
Candidates with above qualification but without experience of 2 year will be considered for JRF in case of non availability of suitable candidates for SRF.
Experience: 0-2 year
Desirable: Experience in Nano-bio-composite, Construction Material, Wet Chemistry, Food Storage, optimization studies, food quality analysis. Exposure to statistical analysis software packages, CAD software, writing research papers and report writing skill etc.
Age: As Per SERB (DST)/ ICAR rules
Fellowship: Rs. 28,000 + 20% HRA per month for SRF (Consolidated)
Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA per month for JRF (Consolidated)
Job description: To carry the day to day lab experiments of extraction, nano particles, bio-composite development, characterization, optimization, fabrication, instrument work and quality evaluation etc. along with other day to day administrative works and any work assigned by PI.
