The University of Delhi is a public central university located in Delhi, India. It is wholly funded by the Government of India. Established in 1922, it offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The University of Delhi is a premier institute of higher education in India. It was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. Five departments namely chemistry, geology, Zoology, sociology and history have been awarded the status of the Centres of Advanced Studies.

- Desired Profile : Good academic record with at least 55% marks at the Master's degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
- Preferred : Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar Test accredited by the UGC. However, the candidates having PhD degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET
