Jawaharlal Nehru University, also known as JNU, is a public central university in New Delhi, India. In 2012, The National Assessment and Accreditation Council gave the university a grade of 3.9 out of 4, the highest grade awarded to any educational institution in the country.University is organised into ten schools, each of which has several centres, as well as four independent special centres.
Applications are invited for the following posts in DST funded programme entitled "Traditional Knowledge Systems- Network Programme on Convergence of Traditional Knowledge Systems for Integration to Sustainable Development in the Indian Himalayan Region" for a period of Five years as per the rules and regulations of the funding agency

Desired Profile :
- Scientist D : MSc and PhD in Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Environmental Sciences/Life Sciences with at least 8 years proven research experience. Desirable qualifications : working experience in Himalayan ecosystems
- Scientist B: MSc and PhD in Botany/Zoology/Forestry/
Environmental Sciences/Life Sciences with at least 3 years proven research experience.
Desirable qualifications : Working experience in Himalayan ecosystems - Junior Research Fellow : MSc in Botany/Zoology/Forestry/ Environmental Sciences/Life Sciences with practical knowledge in Traditional Knowledge system.
Emoluments :
- Scientist D : Consolidated pm Rs.75000-95000 (equivalent to the pay band Rs. 15600-39100 (GP 7600/-))
- Scientist B : Consolidated pm Rs. 50000-70000 (equivalent to the pay band Rs. 15600-39100 (GP 5400/-))
- Junior Research Fellow : Rs. 16000/ p.m. for initial 2 years and Rs. 18000/ p.m. for third year onwards plus HRA as per the rules.
