Saurashtra University, established on 23rd May, 1967, is situated in Rajkot city of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat State. The campus of the University is spread over 360 acres of land. The jurisdiction of the University includes Amreli, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot and Surendra Nagar districts. It has 28 Post graduate Departments on its campus and 320 affiliated colleges.
Applications are invited on plain paper for two Junior Research Fellows in the MoES (Govt. of India) sponsored Research Project under ESTC, entitled, "Molecular diversity and enzymatic potential of haloalkaliphilic actinomycetes from the sea water of Coastal Gujarat"

- No of Post : Two
- Desired Profile :M.Sc. 1St class or higher second class in Microbiology/ Biotechnology /Biochemistry with consistent good academic record. Candidates with NET Qualification and/or 1-2 year research experience after M.Sc. will be given preference.
- Fellowship amount : Rs. 16,000/- per month + HRA
for first two years and Rs. 18,000/- per month + HRA for the third year. The revised rates of the fellowship would be applicable subject to the sanction by the funding agency.

The candidates selected as the Junior Research Fellows may be allowed to register for Ph.D. degree under the supervision of the PI, subject to the availability of the vacant seats.
