- ABOUT SAURASHTRA UNIVERSITY : Saurashtra University, established in 1967, is one of the largest universities in Gujarat state in India. It has very vast campus admeasuring 360 acres. It has been ReAccredited Grade A by NAAC (CGPA 3.05).It is having 28 regular departments and 207 affiliated colleges offering courses in Medical, Pharmacy, Law, Basic Science, Commerce, Management, Music, Arts, Humanities, Religion and Indian Culture. The university is providing Central Library facility with more than 1,80,000 books and inflibnet facilities.
- ABOUT DEPARTMENT : Department of Biochemistry was established in the year 1999 and got U.G.C. reorganization in the year of 2009. It is the first exclusive PG department of state conventional University in entire Saurashtra region. Department offers total three programs i.e. M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.Phil. Biochemistry and Ph.D. Biochemistry. Total five major & minor research projects have been sanctioned of worth Rs. 8,29,000/- by national funding agencies. Till today, total 64 paper published and 62 papers presented at national and international level by students and faculties. . The major areas of research are Crystallography, Particle engineering, functionality improvement of APIs, Pharmacological activity, Pharmacokiniteics,
SNP typing. Department is well equipped with major Instruments, like UVVis, spec., Autoanalyzer, elisa reader, Sonicator, Gel doc. System and audio visual aids. Department is associated with national research institutes like NCCS-Pune, PERD centre-Ahmedabad, BARC-Mumbai, CSMCRIBhavnagar, ACTREC-Mubai, BCRI-Ahmedabad, JAUJunagadh, JNU-New Delhi, Mairye Estate Ltd.-Africa, etc. Apart from central library department has own library equipped with more than 825 books & journals which includes of well repute standards. Department is equipped with computer facility with 24/7 internet & wi-fi connection for students. All the passed out students have been placed in various industries and academics at national and international levels.
- AIM OF THE PROGRAM : The RABR 2015: Recent Advances in Biochemical Research aims to bring together leading Academic Scientists, Industrial Scientist, Researchers, Research Scholars (Ph.D. students), Post Graduate and Under Graduate (T. Y. B.Sc. only) students to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Biochemical research i.e. Immunology, Human Physiology, Clinical Biochemistry, molecular biology, Plant Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology. It also provides the premier interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the field of Biochemistry . We encourage you to contribute and help to shape the conference through paper submissions. We invite high quality submissions of papers describing originaland unpublished results in all areas of Biochemistry. The conference solicits contributions of Research papers (Faculty, M.Sc. & Ph.D. students) and Review Papers (for T.Y. B.Sc. & PG students only) that address the themes and topics for the conference, including figures, tables and references of novel research material.
CALL FOR ABSTRACT FOR POSTER COMPETITION :

Poster presentation (Review or Research or
Concept).
- Abstract (250 words; times new roman; 12 pt, single spaced in word file format). Type of poster abstract (Review or Research or Concept) must be clearly mentioned on top right hand corner of abstract and poster both.
- Poster size should not be more than 1 x 1 meter in dimension.
- Maximum four participants per poster. Correspondence: Send abstract on or before 31st January, 2015 on email to biochemistry.seminar@gmail.com Send Registration form along with abstract in paper copy with complete contact details of the presenting authors i.e. email, phone, institute address. Abstract will not be accepted without registration fee.
- The registration fee must be paid in cash or by nonrefundable demand draft in favour of ‘Department of Biochemistry Alumni Association, Rajkot’ payable at Rajkot (Gujarat), India and send to
Department of Biochemistry, Saurashtra University, Rajkot 360005, India on or before 5th February, 2015.
