The Department of Biological sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at IIT Kanpur was established in September 2001 with the aim of providing a multidisciplinary research and teaching program in modern biology and bioengineering. The department offers both undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate programs (M.Tech and Ph.D) and the faculty conduct research in diverse areas of basic and applied biology. Research interests of the department include cell & molecular biology, genetics & developmental biology, structural & computational biology, Bioinformatics, bioremediation, tissue engineering and bioprocess engineering.
Applications are invited for the post of Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored research Project.
- Title : Optimized Adeno-associated virus mediated gene transfer strategies for phenotypic correction of hemophilia B
- Position : Post doctoral Fellow (One)
- Desired Profile : PhD in Life sciences
- Preferred : Scientists interested in translational research in the area of gene therapy are invited to apply.
Experience in molecular and Cell Biology and in handling small animal models is desirable. Prior experience in handling viral vectors will be an advantage.
- Duration : Initially for one year and based on the performance extendable further until duration of the project.
- Salary : 24,000/-per month (Consolidated).
