The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is designed to be an international institution of excellence in Biotechnology, with intimate contributions from regional countries as well as from academic institutions worldwide. RCB will provide a globally competitive platform for interdisciplinary research & education at biotech interface of engineering & medicine, chemistry & physics, Agriculture& climate science to empower human resources to drive biotech innovations.
The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) an institute of education, training and research established by the Govt. of India through the Dept. of Biotechnology under the auspices of UNESCO as Category II Centre (C2C).
With the view to promote multidisciplinary research in the field of Biotechnology, applications are invited for RCB Young Investigator Awards (RCB–YI Award) from the eligible candidates.
- Notification : RCB-Young Investigator Awards
- Description : RCB-Young Investigator Awards are designed to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists with innovative ideas who are desirous of pursuing research as career in the frontier areas of Biotechnology including Structural Biology,Biophysics, crystallography and molecular biology, under the mentorship of senior faculty of RCB.
- Desired and Age : Young scientists below 35 years with PhD in any discipline of natural sciences with excellent publication records shall apply through the prescribed application (available in the website mentioned below).
- Required : The scientists shall have a provisional degree/certificate at the time of interview.
- Duration of the Award : Initially for a period of three (3) years. There shall be an annual review of the progress
of research undertaken and continuation of the award. The award can be extended for additional two years, based on the Annual Review by a Committee.
- Award : The award carries a consolidated stipend of Rs. 40,000/- per month. During this tenure, the awardee shall not be entitled to draw any other fellowship or salary in any form.
