The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions.
Applications are invited on plain paper for the posts of Junior Research Fellow in the DBT-funded project entitled “To explore the cell death pathways in cancer cells exhibiting chromosomal instability” under Dr. Alka Bhatia, Assist. Professor, Dept. of Exp. Med. & Biotechnology as per details given below:

- Desired Profile : Masters (1st Class) in Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, molecular biology, Cell Biology with NET/GATE cleared
- Preferred : Preference will be given to experienced person.Candidate who has experience on molecular biology techniques like PCR, sequencing; conventional cytogenetic techniques, experience on animal cell culture would be preferred.
- Salary : As per DBT Rules
- Age : 28 years on 17.12.2014. (Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women candidate as per rules).
