Job Title: Technician - Microbiology
Job Description:
- Carries out stains, smears and inoculation of cultures
- Ability to perform Mantoux test and various serological tests
- Collects and process clinical materials
- Prepares culture, media and reagents
- Ability to interpretation of smear and culture
- Maintains equipments in the department in coordination with biomedical department
- Updates materials , consumables ,reagents in the department and prepares complex media, tubed and bottled media
- Prepares all accessories for special tests.
- Knowledge of collection of sheep blood
- Collects and processes clinical specimens.
- Maintains QA /QC records periodically
- Interpretation / Reading of direct smear examination / culture examination / sensitivity and knowledge and understanding of defined critical values for each type of diagnostic test, reporting and documentation of the information of the same
- Ability to perform molecular /Immunological tests
- Possesses knowledge of infection control and waste management.
- Ensures updated knowledge of laid down procedures.
- Ensures JCI compliance in accordance with departmental requirements.
- Provides leadership to juniors with training and mentoring to new staff in the department
Eligibility: B.Sc/ M.ScMicrobiology
Experience: 0-4 years
