A PhD position is available in the group of Plant Genetics at the University of Potsdam, Germany, to study the adaptation of flower morphology after the transition to a selfing mating-system.

  • The selected candidate will use combined approaches of developmental, quantitative and molecular genetics to identify the constraints driving flower morphology evolution.
  • For previous related work by the group, see Sicard et al., (2014) Curr Bio. 24(166):1880-6, Sicard et al., (2011) Plant Cell. Sep;23(9):3156-71 and Sicard et al. (2011), Ann Bot. Jun;107(9):1433-43.
  • The department is seeking a PhD student starting in winter 2014-2015
  • Applicants must have a completed undergraduate degree or master degree in plant biology, molecular biology or a related discipline.
