The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) has been established as an autonomous institution by the Government of India, under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology. This is the first institution in India explicitly devoted to research, training, translation & service and capacity-building in biomedical genomics.

• Project Description : IL28B genetic variation has been associated with natural clearance and response to treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections. This project which is a DBT sponsored one, entails a detailed analysis of the genetic as well as the functional association of variation at the IL28B locus with chronic HCV infections using human blood samples, liver biopsies and cell-culture model. This position is contractual and work carried out in this position will normally NOT lead to a PhD degree

• Desired Profile :M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Zoology/Microbiology/molecular biology/ Genetics/Biophysics/Biotechnology

• Preferred :NET-LS/GATE/BET qualified (Category II merit list of DBT-BET included)
• Nature of Duty : Genotyping from blood genomic DNA using RFLP, DNA resequencing, TaqMan-based methods, association analysis using statistical tests, manuscript preparation, performing various cell culture experiments-transfection, western blots, luciferase assays etc
• Salary : Rs 20,800/- pm

• Position : Project Assistant
• No of Post : One
• Desired Profile :M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Zoology/Microbiology/molecular biology/Genetics /Biophysics/Biotechnology
• Preferred : Experience in wet lab experiments like DNA, RNA isolation, cell culture,site-directed mutagenesis, western blots
• Nature of Duty : Performing site-directed mutagenesis experiments, culturing of cells, transfections, western blots, elisa, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and data analysis
• Salary : Rs 8000/- pm
