Two PhD student positions are open now at the Medical University of Vienna, Department of Medicine I, Division of Hematology and Hemostaseology, in Austria, Europe. - Project description : Our research focuses on the blood system as a key model for stem cell differentiation and cancer formation. We aim to decipher the molecular cues of distinct chromosomal loop structures that regulate noncoding transcription and coordinate site-specific epigenetic gene silencing. We will utilize techniques involving a combination of approaches including mechanistic mouse models and cell lines, primary patient samples, high-throughput genomics approaches including next generation sequencing, RNA-/RIP-sequencing, whole genome bisulfite-sequencing, chromosome conformation capturing, and Hi-C.

Requirements :
- Master of science (MSc) or equivalent university degree in Biological sciences, chemistry, medicine or a related discipline.
- Previous experience with mouse models, basic molecular / Cell Biology methods, and cancer biology.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Knowledge of the German language is not required.
