The Directorate of Sorghum Research (DSR) formerly, National Research Centre for Sorghum (NRCS), is the central agency to work on all aspects of sorghum research and development under the auspeces of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). While the main centre at Hyderabad campus is principally engaged in both basic and strategic research on sorghum, region-specific research and services are organized through two other centres - Solapur and Jalna in Maharashtra.
Eligible and interested candidates are invited for a walk-in-interview to be held at the campus of Directorate of Sorghum Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad – 500 030 on 17.11.2014 at 10:30 A.M for recruitment of one Project Assistant and one Research Associate as per the details given below.
- Project Title : JCERDC project on Development of sustainable advanced lignocellulosic biofuel systems
- Position : Project Assistant
- No of Post : One
- Desired Profile : Graduates in Agricultural Sciences/life sciences or related subjects.
- Preferred : Working experience in lab/pot/field experimentation.
- Fellowship : Rs 8000 + HRA
- Duration : Upto 31.10.17
- Project Title : NFBSFARA Project on “Studies on Sucrose accumulation for efficient ethanol production from Sweet Sorghum”
- Position : Research Associate
- No of Post : One
- Desired Profile : Doctorate/ Ph D degree in Biochemistry or Plant Sciences or Microbiology. Experience in High Performance Liquid Chromatography, maintenance of microbial cultures is required.
- Preferred : Good skills of scientific writing, and knowledge in statistical software and analysis of data.
- Fellowship : Rs 17000 + HRA
- Duration : Upto 31.12.15
The above post is purely temporary and on contractual basis till expiry of the project. The candidates shall submit Applications at the time of interview in the proforma enclosed along with a passport size photograph and a set of attested copies of requisite mark-sheet, certificates and supporting documents. They have to produce all the original certificates at the time of interview for verifications. NO TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director, DSR is final and binding in all respects.
