Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview during 20-22 October, 2014 for the temporary positions of Research Associates (RA)/Senior Research Fellows (SRF)/Junior Research Fellows (JRF) along with their original certificates of educational qualifications etc., to work under the ad-hoc research projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

  • Project :DBT Project on “Marker assisted introgression of different traits to develop new generation rice varieties”.
  • Position : Research Associate (1 position)
  • Desired Profile : Doctorate (Ph.D) in Genetics & Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, AgricultureBotany, Plant Genetics or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MSc life sciences or M.Sc (Ag), with specialization in Genetics & Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, AgricultureBotany, Plant Genetics.
  • Preferred : Experience in rice improvement for biotic and abiotic stresses tolerance under field conditions and/or using molecular markers.
  • Emoluments : Rs.22,000/- plus HRA p.m.
  • Project :DBT Project on “Marker assisted introgression of different traits to develop new generation rice varieties”.
  • Position :Senior Research Fellow (1 position)
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc (Ag.) with specialization in Genetics & Plant Breeding, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or M.Sc life sciences (Botany/Genetics & Biotechnology) and having NET qualified.
  • Preferred : Experience in field crop improvement and use of molecular markers
  • Emoluments : Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA.
  • Project : DBT Project on “Marker assisted improvement of popular maintainer and restorer lines of rice tolerance to abiotic stresses”.
  • Position :JRF (2 position)
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc (Ag.) with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/ Plant molecular biology/Plant Science/Life Sciences/Botany.
  • Preferred : Experience in rice Biotechnology/breeding/genetics.
  • Emoluments : Rs.12,000/- plus HRA p.m. for 1st and 2nd year and Rs.14,000/- plus HRA for 3rd year.
  • Project : ICAR project entitled “Strategic deployment of rice blast resistance genes based on pathogen population dynamics for true durable resistance” under ICAR Lal Bahadur Shastri Young Scientist Award – 2012.
  • Position : SRF (1 position)
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc or M.Sc (Ag.) degree with specialization in Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/Plant Breeding/Genetics/Plant molecular biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences.
  • Preferred : Research experience in crop genetics/plant breeding/plant pathology/ Biotechnology as evidenced by publications and or reference letters. Work experience in rice Biotechnology/plant breeding/genetics/plant pathology will be preferred. Good knowledge in computer applications.
  • Emoluments : Rs.12,000/- plus HRA p.m. for 1st and 2nd year and Rs.14,000/- plus HRA for 3rd year.
  • Project : DBT Network Project entitled "Identification and functional analysis of genes related to yield and biotic stress – 1A : Fine mapping of yield enhancing QTLs from wild rice”.
  • Position : RA (1 position)
  • Desired Profile : Doctorate (Ph.D) in Genetics/Biotechnology/Breeding/Plant Sciences or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MSc (Ag.) with specialization in Genetics/Biotechnology/Breeding/Plant Sciences, M.ScLife Sciences with specialization in Biotechnology.
  • Preferred : Experience in QTL mapping, Bioinformatics, phenotyping yield traits, statistics with good writing skills and use of computer applications like MS Office, Database and use of internet will be preferred.
  • Emoluments : Rs.22,000/- plus HRA p.m.
  • Project : ICAR Network Project on "Transgenics in Crops" (Functional genomics Component)- Iron & Zinc’’.
  • Position : RA (1 position)
  • Desired Profile : Doctorate (Ph.D) in Genetics/Biotechnology/Breeding/Plant Sciences with specialization in Biotechnology with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least 2 years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/Associateship/Training/other engagements. Published research papers desirable.
  • Preferred : Experience in QTL mapping for yield, iron and zinc, real time PCR, sequencing cloning, Bioinformatics, phenotyping yield traits, statistics with good writing skills and use of computer applications like MS office, Database and use of internet will be preferred.
  • Emoluments : Doctoral degree holders Rs.24,000/- pm plus HRA and Masters Degree holders Rs.23,000/- pm plus HRA p.m.
  • Project : ICAR Project Entitled: “Genomic and transcriptomic analysis of rice hybrids and their parental lines in relation to heterosis” under ICAR’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Young Scientist Award – 2010
  • Position : SRF (1 position)
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Ag) degree with specialization in Plant Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology/Plant molecular biology/Plant Sciences/Botany.
  • Preferred : 1-2 years research experience in crop genetics/breeding as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters. Work experience in rice Biotechnology/breeding/genetics will be preferred
  • Emoluments : Rs. 16,000/- pm plus 30 % HRA per month
  • Project : DBT Project entitled “Identification and functional analysis of genes related to yield and biotic stress’’ Phase II, Sub project 5 A, Identification and functional validation of brown planthopper (BPH) resistance genes”.
  • Position : SRF (1 position)
  • Desired Profile : M.Sc. or M.Sc (Ag) degree in Plant Breeding & Genetics/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Biotechnology from a recognized and reputed University.
  • Preferred : Experience in molecular biology techniques and knowledge in Bioinformatics and field experience in rice crop as evidenced by publications and experience certificate
  • Emoluments : Consolidated Pay of Rs. 18000 pm + HRA
  • Project : Consortium Research Project on Ägro-biodiversity”Component I: Sub Project:1 Management and use of PGR
  • Position : SRF (2 position)
  • Desired Profile :M.Sc (Ag) or M.Sc. degree with specialization in Plant Breeding /Genetics/Botany/Plant Genetic Resources/Life Sciences from any recognized university in the country.
  • Preferred : Proficiency in computer knowledge, related skills and familiarity with MS Office and MS Access
  • Emoluments : Rs. 2.4 lakhs/per year/per person

  • Declaration of results : 20.10.2014 at 4.00 p.m.
