Technical Officer required in SRL-UCMS, New Delhi joint venture project

The University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) was established in 1971 as a Constituent College of University of Delhi. It imparts various medical and paramedical courses. Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital is the associated teaching hospital with 1000 beds. UCMS is known for its quality research and has a National ranking of 7th based on the number of publications in PubMed indexed journals.

Applications are invited for the post of Technical Officer under the following terms of Reference (TOR) of NACO/DSACS, by SRL, UCMS.This notification is also available on college website WWW.ucms.ac.in Technical Officer will be posted at SRL and will report to the In-charge, State Reference Laboratory. Six monthly review of Performance work will be done by SRL/SACS/NACO. The expected deliverables are given below:

• Position : SRL Technical Officer
• Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Life Sciences
• Experience : Minimum two years experience inMedical Microbiological/Immunological Laboratory techniques. Candidates with experience in Quality Assurance will be preferred.

TOR’S of Technical Officer:

• Monitor the work related to EQAS, including sending of panels to the ICTCs/PPTCT/Blood Banks.
• Obtain monthly EQAS reports from ICTCs/PPTCT centres/Blood Banks and review work done.
• Ensure that quarterly 20% of positive and 5% of negative samples are being sent and documented every first week of the quarter (7 days in 3 months) to the supervisory lab for confirmation and received the same and documented from the lower tier lab to the SRL.
• EQAS data analysis and reporting.
• Following up with the sites which had not sent the last reports for EQAS.
• Supervision and mentoring of laboratory technicians of ICTCs/PPTCTs.
• Supervision of laboratory technician training.
• Twelve days tour to linked ICTC centres, (Technical officer will have to submit the tour report within 48 hours to I/C SRL and copy to NACO).
