Opening for two SRF vacancy at NIASM, Pune | Recruitment via Walk in

National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management primarily focus on plants, animals and fisheries research. The major research under drought stress management will include physiological manifestations, perception & transduction of stress signals & regulation of stress responsive gene expression and efficient screening techniques for abiotic stress tolerance and mining of genes involved in stress tolerance from indigenous sources for improvement of major food and horticultural crops. The enhancement of abiotic stress tolerance in major food crops with a focus on wheat, rice, maize, groundnut, pulses, vegetables, mango, citrus, and apple will be done through genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.

It is proposed to be a Walk in Interview on 19.09.14 at 10.00 AM at NIASM for two SRF under ICAR, AMAAS project entitled "Functional characterization of salt tolerant bacteria using multi-omics approaches and their exploitation for allevation of salt stress in crop plants

  • Preferred : Experience in isolation, identification and maintenance of Bacteria/Actinomycetes and fungi (mycorrhiza) from extreme habitats (saline/alkaline) experience in extraction of plant microbes based secondary metabolites, genomc and soil metagenomic DNA. Experience in handling equipment like PCR, GLC and HPLC; good working knowledge of computer
  • Emoluments : Rs 16000 + HRA (10%) for first two years and Rs 18000/- + HRA (10%) for thrid year
  • Age : Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women
