Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) is one amongst the 38 national laboratories of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and is its youngest laboratory. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the area of Biotechnology, the Institute occupies an area of about 47 acres, of which the labs cover 22 acres and the residential campus, 25 acres.
The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit a Research Associate, Project Fellow & JRF (Project) on temporary basis to work in following projects
- BIRAC sponsored project with Rossari Biotech limited, Mumbai as the industry partner, titled , ‘‘Development of a novel bioreactor system for production of IMTECH-laccase and verification of commercial viability of IMTECH process’’
- Environmental Research Initiative for pulp and process Industry (ERIPP)
- DNA fingerprinting of Ligninocellulose degrading microbes isolated from protected forests areas of Assam and Mizoram
- Project title : BIRAC sponsored project “Development of a novel bioreactor system for production of IMTECH – laccase and verification of commercial viability of IMTECH process”
- Position : Research Associate

- Desired Profile : Ph.D in Microbiology/ Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering
- Experience : Proficiency in aseptic culture practices and GMP methods in microbiological process lab. Theoretical and practical knowledge of construction and working of various types of Bioreactors, ultrafiltration equipment, centrifuge and Protein purification system Good knowledge of Microbial kinetics. Proficiency in routine biochemical analytical method. Ability to execute the work as per plan/ instructions in the absence of supervision. Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above.
- Salary : Rs. 22,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month

- Salary : Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month
- Age : 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIRs instructions.
- Tenure : 18 months
- Project title : For a Network Project under 12th Five Year Plan on “Environmental Research Initiative for pulp and process Industry” (ERIPP) which deals with development of an enzymatic process for kraft pulp bleaching.
- Position : Project Fellow

- Desired Profile : 1st class M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology, or GATE qualified M.Tech. in Bio-chemical Engineering
- Experience : Practical research experience in enzyme, isolation, purification and Assay.
- Salary : Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month
- Age : 28 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Women candidate as per Govt. of India/CSIRs instructions.

- Salary : Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA @ 20% per month / For JRF qualified fellows for others 12,000+ HRA @20%
