TANUVAS conducting Walk in Interview for RA/JRF position

The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College). Based on the recommendation of the Royal Commission on Agriculture, the college was upgraded to impart degree in veterinary science.

A walk-in interview would be held for Research Associate (One) and Junior Research Fellow (One) for the DBT– BBSRC – Indo – UK FADH Project on “Molecular epidemiology of tick and tick borne disease, host resistance and development of novel pathogen vaccines” at the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai-600 007. The posts are purely temporary for about three years from the date of recruitment or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier. The qualification and remuneration are as follows.

  • Position : Research Associate
  • No of Post : One
  • Salary : Rs.22,000/- month + 30% HRA

Filled in application in the prescribed format should be brought along with relevant original certificates and photo identity to the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Madras Veterinary College, Vepery, Chennai – 600 007 on the day of walk-in interview i.e. on 12.09.2014 at 10.00 A.M.
