Job Description :
- Know and understand analysis guidelines for the GVDB and Integrity
- Accept/Reject appropriate articles for analysis to be included in the corporative data bases
- Analyze selected scientific items from different sources following analysis guidelines
- Receive and understand feedback of collaborators and take the appropriate actions to improve in the problematic areas. Ensure quality standards are observed
- Search for specific sources/tools of information that help in the analysis
- Know, understand and require new terms for controlled terminology lists
- Take responsibility for your own training development and needs
- Work as a reliable and effective member of the BIOMED team as a whole
- Enter new genes/proteins/ Biomarkers records into the Genomics/Biomarkers databases and complete the basic information for each entry
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
Desired Profile :
Educational Qualifications :
- Masters Degree / Post Graduation in Genetics / molecular biology / Microbiology / Biotechnology (B.Tech are not preferred) OR at least two years of experience working with scientific literature in areas like Genomics / Genes & Proteins
- A theoretical understanding of genetics, molecular biology and Biochemistry
- Good background on Genetics, Genomics, Proteomics and Molecular Pathology. Important must-know concepts include information related to:
- Genetic information flow, RNA/DNA structure and disease related genetic variants
- Cellular biology, DNA repair and immune response in the context of molecular pathology
- Biotechnology and molecular biology methods and techniques
- Basic concepts on clinical pharmacology
Preferred skills :
- Candidates with good academic credentials are preferred or should have atleast two years of experience working on Scientific Literature in areas like Genomics / Genes & Proteins
- Well organised and disciplined with regards policy, procedure and standards
- Ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment
- Effective time management
- Ability to deal with complex and demanding issues
- Self motivated with the ability to deliver consistently
- Proficienct both in Written and Spoken English
