The Graduate School of Excellence ‘JSMC’ invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher Position TV-L E13 65% (Ref.No. 89/2013) to conduct research on the project

Soil amoeba interactions with filamentous fungi as driving forces for pathogenicity

The two model organisms, the social amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum and the fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus will be exploited to gain insight if interactions in a natural environment could have served as training ground for the development of fungal virulence factors. The project will cover the molecular interactions of amoeba and conidia during phagocytosis but also includes first approaches to analyze the chemical communication between these two organisms.
