Walk in Interview for multiple research positions at VPKAS, Almora

Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan (VPKAS), Almora, Uttarakhand, India, is a premier institute of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, engaged in hill agricultural research for North-Western Himalayan region of India. It is a multi-crop and multi-disciplinary institute. It has so far released 120 varieties of 25 crops. Some of these varieties have been released by Central Varietal Release Committee (CVRC) for other parts of India, apart from the mandate area.  It has to its credit the first hybrid maize variety for Himalayan region, viz., VL Makka 54, released in 1962.  

• Project title : HMNEH MM-I project “Central Coordinating Unit”.
• Position : Research Associate
• No of Post : One
• Desired Profile : M.Sc. in Horticulture/ Vegetable Science/ Agriculture.
• Experience : Experience in Hill farming, vegetable/ fruit crops with good knowledge of computer operations including power point presentation, report compilation.

• Project title : RKVY project namely “Enhancement of Productivity, Profitability and Income of hill farmers through large scale demonstrations of improved agricultural technologies through KVKs (Stream-I) ”
• Position :Senior Research Fellow
• No of Post : One
• Desired Profile :M.Sc.(Ag) in Horticulture/ Animal Science/ Agril. Engineering/ Agronomy
• Experience : Working experience in hill farming, poly-house & ploy-tank construction, fruit and vegetable cultivation, survey, conducting field demonstration at farmer field & security feed back etc.

• Project title : HMNEH MM-I project “Refinement and dissemination of existing mushroom production technologies in Uttarakhand hills”.
• Position : Senior Research Fellow
• No of Post : One

• Desired Profile :M.Sc. (Ag.) Plant Pathology/ Microbiology/ Ph.D. in Plant Pathology
• Experience : Having knowledge of culture maintenance, spawn preparation and mushroom production.

• Project title : RKVY project namely “Enhancement of Productivity, Profitability and Income of hill farmers through large scale demonstrations of improved agricultural technologies through KVKs (Stream-I) ”
• Position :Senior Research Fellow
• No of Post : One
• Desired Profile : M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture/Agronomy Experience in hill Agriculture
• Experience : To conduct field demonstrations in agri/Horticultural crops at farmers field, Survey, recording of feedback from the farmers.

Emoluments :

• RA - Rs 23,000/- + HRA per month for Master Degree. Rs 24,000/- + HRA per month for Ph.D. holders.
• SRF - Rs  16,000/- + HRA per month

Age limit :

• RA - The upper age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
• SRF - The upper age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women on the date of interview (relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms)
