Walk in interview on 25-01-2014 for JRF position at IARI

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute is the country's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has the status of a 'Deemed-to-be-University' under the UGC Act of 1956, and awards M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in various agricultural disciplines. The growth of India's Agriculture during the past nearly 100 years, is closely linked with the researches done and technologies generated by the Institute. The Green Revolution stemmed from the fields of IARI. 

A walk-in interview will be held for Junior Research Fellow (JRF): One post in the DBT BioCARE project on "Genetic modification of cytokinin levels to enhance root system architecture and source-sink relationship for improving drought tolerance of rice" (Duration: From Nov 2013 to Nov 2016; PI, Dr. Preeti Kaur; Mentor: Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy).

  • Experience : Experience in basic molecular biological techniques, gene cloning, Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of plants.
  • Job duties: To clone tissue specific and stress inducible promoters, development of gene constructs for overexpression and RNAi, Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation, Physiological and molecular analysis of rice transgenics, and any other project related work assigned by the PI/Mentor

Candidates interested in research with the qualifications given in the following table may report for interview at 10:00 A.M. on 25-01-2014 (Saturday) in Committee Room, Division of Plant Physiology, IARI, Pusa campus, New Delhi 110 012. Candidate should report by 9:30 AM on 25-01-2014 for verification of Certificates (must bring original certificates). In case of GATE qualifies candidates, GATE certificate which are valid on the day of interview is necessary
