Location: Institute Of molecular biology and Biotechnology, Foundation For Research And Technology – Hellas, Greece

Tenure: 24 months, renewable based on the program's needs

Starting Date: April or May 2016

Eligibility:

Qualifications:             

PhD in Biology/molecular biology/Biochemistry; experience in molecular diagnostics and/or molecular entomology and/or mosquito-vector biology and/or insecticide resistance.

The successful candidate should also be adaptable and able to work under different conditions and with a range of people in a multicultural environment, as well as flexible to travel for short periods of time.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will develop and validate molecular diagnostic assays to monitor species ID, infection status and insecticide resistance profile of mosquito vectors of human diseases.

Key duties include:

  • To develop and validate molecular diagnostic assays for mosquito vectors;
  • to be responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting;
  • to liaise effectively with the colleagues in the DMC- MALVEC project;
  • to be responsible for working in a safe manner adhering to local and legal requirements;
  • to carry out such other duties consistent with a research position of this nature

Salary: Up to 2300 € monthly cost, depending on qualifications
