National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms (NBAIM) was established through a funded project sponsored by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture (Government of India) in the IX Plan in 2001 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Initially, the bureau started functioning at Old NBPGR Building, New Delhi and then shifted to Kusmaur, Mau Nath Bhanjan, Uttar Pradesh on 1st June, 2004.The basic goal of the Bureau is to promote and coordinate systematic and scientific research in the area of agriculturally important microorganisms (AIMs) in order to improve the agricultural productivity. The Bureau houses National Agriculturally Important Microbial Culture Collection (NAIMCC) with more than 5000 microbial accessions isolated from different parts of the country. The vision of the Bureau is based on using its resources and experiences as a Microbial Resource Center to become the pioneer in the management of standard microbial reference materials, intellectual property resources and translational research as applied to the development, standardization and certification of biomaterial.
(I) POSITION I:
Project Title: Strengthening the Nationally Important Agricultural Microbial Culture Collection, Barcoding and Establishing Strong Linkages with other MRCs.
Position Title: Young Professional II
- Number of vacancies: 1
- Duration: Contractual engagement for a period of 12 months extendable to one more year based on performance.
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc in AgricultureMicrobiology/ Microbiology/ Applied Microbiology/ Botany with specialization in Microbiology
- Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to those candidates who are having experience in :
- Isolation, characterization and preservation of microorganisms with inventerization as micrographs and catalogues etc.
- Genomic and metagenomic research work
- Emoluments: Rs 25000/- per month
(II) POSITION II:
Project Title: Evaluation of BCA for induction of systemic resistance, plant growth promotion and protection against soil borne diseases in chick pea (Cicer arietinum L.)
- Position Title: Young Professional II
- Number of vacancies: 1
- Duration: Contractual engagement for a period of 12 months extendable to one more year based on performance.
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc in Plant Pathology/ AgricultureMicrobiology/ Microbiology/Botany with specialization in Microbiology
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those candidates who are having experience in : Isolation, characterization (biochemical and molecular) and field evaluation of microorganisms
- Emoluments: Rs 25000/- per month
(III) POSITION III:
- Project Title:BNF Cereals (Incentivizing Research in Agriculture Project)
- Position Title: Young Professional I
- Number of vacancies: 1
- Duration: Upto 31st March 2017
- Essential Qualification: Graduate in Chemistry/ Biology/ Botany/Biotechnology
- Desirable Qualifications:
- M.Sc in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences and experience of working in the area of microbiological / biochemical/ instrumentation analysis.
- Emoluments: Rs 15000/- per month
NOTE:
- The above positions are purely temporary and on contractual basis till one year from the date of appointment and extendable to one more year based on performance of the candidate. However, maximum duration will not be extended beyond 2 years.
- The age limit of the above positions is minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years ( relaxable as per rules)
- There is no provision of re-employment after termination of the project.
- No Objection Certificate from the employer is must if already working.
(IV) POSITION IV:
Project Title: Network Project on Computational Biology and Agricultural Bioinformatics under Centre For Agricultural Bioinformatics (CABin) Scheme, ICAR-NBAIM, Mau
Position Title: Research Associate (RA)
Number of vacancies: 2
Duration: Upto 31st March 2017
Essential Qualifications:
Ph.D in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics or M.Sc in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree and NET and two years research experience ( minimum) in the subject.
Desirable qualifications:
Proven work in the area of Bioinformatics data analysis as evident from publications.
Emoluments: Rs 38000/- per month for M.Sc degree holders and Rs. 40000/- per month for Ph.D holders
NOTE:
- Maximum age limit is 40 years for men and 45 years for women(relaxation in age as per ICAR/GOI norms.
- Appointment of RA is till 31st March 2017. The candidate will have no legal right whatsoever for further absorption or re-employment in concerned project / NBAIM/ ICAR.
- No Objection Certificate from the employer is must if already working.
