The Central University of Himachal Pradesh is established under the Central Universities Act 2009 (No. 25 of 2009) enacted by the Parliament. The University is funded and regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University became functional with the assumption of charge by the first Vice Chancellor on 20th January 2010.

Qualification : Master degree in Bioinformatics/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Environmental Science/Microbiology or any branch of Life Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks for general category (50% in case of SC/ST/PH).UGC/CSIR NET, GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.
Experience : Experience in basic Bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques
Payscale : NET/GATE qualified candidate: Rs. 16,000/-p.m. for initial two years and Rs. 18,000/- p.m. for the third year. Non-NET/GATE candidates: Rs. 14,000/-p.m. for initial two years and Rs. 16,000/-p.m. for the third year.
