Situated within the Faculty of Science, the School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences teaches and researches in the disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Parasitology. In Australia, our graduates enjoy an employment rate higher than the national average. We currently have almost 100 students in our postgraduate Biotechnology and molecular biology programs, including high-achieving students from India, some of whom have gone on to postgradutate research in Australia and to successful careers in India and around the world.
The School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland invites outstanding students who are citizens of India to apply for a postgraduate coursework scholarship to cover 50% of tuition fees in the Master of Biotechnology, Master of molecular biology or Master of Bioinformatics programs.
About the scholarship:
The Senate may award upto 4 scholarships each year on the recommendation of the Head. One of every two scholarships shall be awarded to a student eligible to enrol in the Master of Biotechnology (16 unit or 24 unit) program or the Master of Biotechnology Advance program. The value of the scholarship is 50% of the tuition fees payable for the minimum number of units required to complete the program by the student who is awarded the scholarship, for each semester for which it is held.
The value of scholarship is approximately AUD $ 16,640 per year plus student services and amenities fee, based on an indicative annual tuition fee of AUD $ 33, 280.

Eligibility:
An applicant is eligible for the scholarship, if the applicant
- is a citizen of India
- submits an application to the Head, by the closing date for applications
- achieved a GPA (or overseas equivalent) of at least 80% over 7 semesters of undergraduate studies or 75% over 8 semesters of undergraduate studies at a higher education institution in India which is ranked section 1 or 2 according to NOOSR (the Australian government, National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition)
- is able to commence as an international student in Australia on a student visa
