Established in 1889, the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is one of the premier research institutions dedicated to livestock research and development of the region. The institute with its long scientific heritage has always enjoyed a certain prestige, a tradition all of its own. Today, the institute with its deemed to be university status contributes immensely to human resource development in the discipline of veterinary sciences with skills and knowledge necessary for the challenges of the new millennium. To impart continuing education to field veterinarians, the institute also conducts diploma courses in veterinary preventive medicine, animal husbandry, veterinary biological products, animal reproduction, poultry husbandry, medicine and surgery, zoo and wild animal health care and management, meat and meat products technology.The institute continues to play an important role in quality control and potency testing of immunobiologicals to various stakeholders with a good liaison with industry. In the liberalized scenario, to my mind this represents the inherent and fundamental strength of IVRI.
The following contractual posts are to be filled at the institute under externally funded Indo -UK DBT-BBSRC project “Attenuation of FMDV serotypes/strains to develop a stable and effective vaccine for FMD’” by Walk-in Interview on 21-1-2016 at 10.30AM .
Project Title : Indo -UK DBT-BBSRC project “Attenuation of FMDV serotypes/strains to develop a stable and effective vaccine for FMD’”
Project tenure : The tenure of the posts is upto March 2017.
- Position Title : Junior Research Fellow
Number of positions: 1
Salary : Rs 25,000 +HRA as admissible
Essential Qualifications :
- M.Sc with NET qualification in Microbiology/Molecular biology/
Biotechnology/ Biochemistry. - Working experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques is desirable.
Age: up to 30 years
2. Position Title : Project Assistant
Number of positions: 1
Salary : Rs 8000 (fixed)
Essential Qualifications :
- B.Sc in Biological (Life sciences)/ Intermediate (P.U.C) in science with computer knowledge.
- Working experience in research labs is desirable.
Age: Upto 25 years
Age relaxation will be admissible to SC/ST / OBC and women candidates as per Govt of India
rules.
