The Technical University of Denmark is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our highly international research center - The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) as part of the New Bioactive Compounds section headed by Prof. Sang Yup Lee.

Position Title: Postdoc position in the area of Natural Products Discovery and Metabolic Engineering of Secondary Metabolite Production in Actinomycetes.

Eligibility:

  • PhD in molecular biology, Microbiology, or a relevant field
  • Extensive knowledge of secondary metabolite biosynthesis / actinomycete biology OR metabolic engineering tools and methods
  • Proven ability to work creatively in an international team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Strong English written and oral language skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be working on projects concerning metabolic engineering of actinomycete antibiotics producers.
  • The work will include topics on laboratory automation, development, implementation and application of high throughput metabolic engineering tools for actinomycetes, and the identification and characterization of novel secondary metabolite biosynthesis pathways.

Tenure: The period of employment for the position is 2 years.
