About the University:
The University of Oklahoma has a history rich in traditions. Some of this history is captured in the words on historical markers across campus, while other moments are reflected in black and white photos hung in OU’s buildings. Tradition is about honoring the customs of the past and recognizing the importance of our actions in the present while looking toward the future.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Transcripts - Applicants must submit transcript(s) from their last degree-granting institution.
- English Proficiency - All applicants for whom English is a second language must present evidence of proficiency in the English language.
- Financial Support Documentation - All international applicants must provide documentary evidence of financial support for their first year of study.

International Graduate Admissions:
Applicants must submit transcript(s) from their last degree-granting institution.
Graduate applicants must, at minimum, possess, or be in the process of completing, the equivalent of a 4-year US Bachelor’s degree. In most cases, a 3-year Bachelor’s degree is not sufficient for graduate study at the University of Oklahoma.
Please note: If you are admitted to the University of Oklahoma, you will be required to submit official transcripts from all degree-granting institutions.
The Office of Graduate Admissions evaluates all international credentials. We do not use the evaluations of external international credential agencies.
Special Instructions:
If your transcript is issued by your university in a language other than English, we require the official, original language document as well as an official, or certified, English translation.
Applicants from India: If your university issues mark-sheets, we require original and complete university mark-sheets. Consolidated mark-sheets are not acceptable.

Step 2: Submit the following with your application:
- Transcripts or mark-sheets and degree certificates from your last degree-granting institution.
- Official TOEFL score sent directly from ETS or official IELTS score reports
- Unofficial copies of test scores may be uploaded with your online application.
- All financial support documentation
- Copy of your VISA/Passport page/Marriage certificate (if bringing dependents)
