The Punjab Agricultural University was established in 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. The PAU has played a key role in increasing food grain production in the Punjab State several folds share its reputation and ushering in an era of Green Revolution in India. It has also made notable contributions in increasing livestock and poultry production. In recognition of its outstanding achievements in agricultural research, education and extension, it was adjudged the Best Agricultural University in India in 1995.
Position Title : Research Assistant- Microbiology

Job responsibilities:
- To carry out production of biofertilizers
- To take initiative for developing projects for strengthening the research / extension/ teaching programmes.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Qualifications:
- B.Sc Medical / B.Sc Honours with any Biological sciences / B.Sc Microbiology / B.Sc Agriculture/ B.Sc Agriculture Honours / B.Sc Biotechnology Honours / B.Sc Horticulture / B.Sc Food Technology / B.Tech Food Technology
- Masters degree in Microbiology
- Atleast second division at Bachelor's Level and 65% marks or OCPA of 6.5 out of 10 at Master's level.
- Matric level certificate of Punjabi language of Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent.
Desirable Qualification:
To carry out work on biofertilizers technology.
Emoluments:
Rs. 25000 /- p.m for M.Sc and Rs. 30000 /- p.m for Ph.D (fixed) provided in the scheme "Establishment of Department of Microbiology, Plan-25, Part B.III 'Research' (PC-1052.2.3) Section: Research on Biofertilizers Development' in this department.
