Job Description:

This position is in the Life Sciences Transformative Platform Technology group working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Microbiologists, Molecular Biologists, Analytical Chemists, and Modelers to develop technologies and capabilities required to deliver innovative products that are able to transform the lives of consumers globally. More specifically, this position involves leading the development & utilization of Microbiology& molecular biology-based methods to evaluate new technologies and develop the deep technical understanding of relevant biological systems required to identify transformative technologies. Responsibilities include; translating research insights into novel methods, technologies, and approaches to deliver consumer-relevant product propositions. The applicant should have a strong background in Microbiology including the growth of both anaerobic bacteria, microbial physiology, and have a strong background in molecular biology with expertise in nucleic acid isolation, DNA sequencing, PCR, and various 'omics platforms (e.g. genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabonomics). Experience in enumerating and evaluating microbes using conventional and molecular biology techniques is essential. In addition the person must have a passion for technology development and developing technical mastery that is focused on delivering new products to consumers.

Position Responsibilities:

Anaerobic Microbiology and molecular biologyAssay development & utilization

Design and execution of experiments, including the development of methods to execute experiments

Screening/Evaluating technologies using various Microbiology-based assays

Work as part of multi-functional team to design, execute, & translate research into technologies that can transform consumers lives

Qualifications 

BS/MS in Microbiology, molecular biology, or Medical Microbiology

Job Requirements:
