Bharathidasan University established in February 1982, and was named after the great revolutionary Tamil Poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1964).The University endeavours to be true to such a vision by creating in the region a brave new world of academic innovation for social change. The University's main Campus was initially located in a sprawling area of over 1000 acres in Palkalaiperur. However, as years passed on, the South Campus at Palkalaiperur with the available infrastructure was donated to the newly started Anna University of Technology. Very recently, another portion of the land has been allotted to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Tiruchirappalli. Also, the University has a downtown campus at Khajamalai, which housed originally the Autonomous Post-Graduate Centre of the University of Madras at Tiruchirappalli.
APPLICATION FOR UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP FOR Ph.D. PROGRAMMES
The application is invited from the Ph.D Scholars for the following departments of this University for availing University Research Fellowship:
Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Environmental Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Microbiology, Marine Biotechnology, Animal Science, Biotechnology& Genetic Engineering and Biomedical Science.
Eligibility:
The candidates who have qualified for Masters degree 10+2+3+2 pattern or equivalent of this university or of any other university as equivalent thereto with not less than 55% of marks or CGPA of 5.51and above in the 10.00 scale under CBCS are eligible to register for Ph.D in this university under this category. The candidates who have qualified for Masters degree prior to 19.9.91 with not less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for Ph.D programme in this university.The SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5% exemption from the prescribed minimum marks.
Qualifying minimum marks:
55% marks or 5.51 CGPA and above in the 10.00 point scale under CBCS.
50% of marks and above for SC/ST / Physically or Visually challenged.
50% of marks and above for those who got Masters degree prior to 19-9-1991.
University Research Fellowship: Rs.5,000/- per month (for Science)
How to apply:
Registration fee of Rs.300/- to be enclosed (Rs.100/- for SC/ST) by DD drawn in favour of Bharathidasan University, Payable at Tiruchirappalli. The candidate should write his/her
name and address and the purpose on the backside of the DD.
The filled-in application along with enclosures should be sent to the concerned Head of the Department, on or before 31.12.2015.
