Founded by the first non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thākur(popularly known as Tagore) in 1921, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a central university and an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament in 1951. The President of India is the Paridarsaka (Visitor) of the University, the Governor of West Bengal is the Pradhana (Rector), and the Prime Minister of India acts as the Acharya (Chancellor). The President of India appoints the Upacharya (Vice-chancellor) of the University.
Project Title : CSIR funded research project [No. 38(1410)/15/EMR-II] entitled “Exploring Extreme Saline Environment to Understand Transport Mediated Ionic Liquid Resistance Mechanism by Functional Metagenomics: A Step Forward Towards Lignocellulosic Bioenergy" under the supervision of Dr. Bomba Dam, PhD (P.I), Department of Botany, Visva-Bharati.
Position Title : Junior Research Fellow
Number of vacancies : 1
Qualifications: The candidates must be CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualified with M.Sc. with 55%
minimum marks in Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Zoology or related subjects in Life
Sciences.
Fellowship: As per CSIR rules with admissible allowances.
Age: Not more than 28 years (relaxable up to 5 years for SC / ST / OBC / physically handicapped / woman candidate)
Duration: Tenure is expected to be three years / terminate with the termination of the project
