National Research Centre for Banana was established on 21st August 1993 at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu by ICAR, New Delhi with an aim to increase the production and productivity of banana and plantains through mission mode basic and strategic research approaches. The Centre works on four major thrust areas of research viz., Crop Improvement, Crop Production, Post Harvest Management and Crop Protection. It has well-equipped laboratories for tissue-culture, bio-technology, soil science, nutrient management, physiology, Biochemistry, entomology, nematology, fungal, bacterial, viral pathology and post harvest technology research.
Walk-in-interview for the selection of Technical Assistant (Two posts) on contractual basis under the DBT funded project entitled “Improved livelihoods through conservation and cultivation of extinct land races of banana of Kolli Hills” to be held on 27.11.2015 (Friday) at 11.00 AM at our Centre.

Preferred : Experience in plant tissue culture, Field experience on crop production, fluency in reading and writing in Tamil, good communication skills. Project implementation is related to Kolli Hills and selected candidates should be prepared to travel to Kolli Hills often
