The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution aided by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute's establishment coincides with the 50th anniversary of India's independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The formal announcement was made on November 30th 1997.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF), One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Field Assistant in the DBT Part-B Sub-project-2 entitled “Transcriptome and developing seed contrasting rice varieties” of Seed Biology under the supervision of Dr. Pinky Agarwal, Scientist, NIPGR.
Position 1 : Senior Research Fellow
- No of Post : One
- Emoluments : As per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
- Desired Profile : Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnolgy, molecular biology, Bioinformatics or any other related field with a minimum of two years of post M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply.
Position 2 :Junior Research Fellow
- No of Post : One
- Emoluments : As per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
- Desired Profile : Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnolgy, molecular biology, Bioinformatics or any other related field duly supported with research work are eligible to apply.
How to apply :
The positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate.
