Coldwater fisheries has a great potential in generating rural income and providing food security to the economically underprivileged population residing in Indian uplands. To utilize the available resources and opportunities in the coldwater fisheries sector the involvement of Indian Council of Agricultural Research in this sector started during late sixties which, subsequently culminated in the creation of National Research Center on Coldwater Fisheries as an independent Research Center on 24 September 1987 during the VII Five Year Plan. The DCFR is on its glorious path of virtually actualizing its vision by imparting boon of quality research in sustainable coldwater fisheries production, management and conservation.

Project: DST funded “eco system monitoring”
Qualification: P.G in basic sc. With NET or graduate degree on professional course with NET or PG in professional course
Desirable: Fisheries Sc degree holders/ specialisation in fisheries science
Place of Work: Lower and mid Himalayan region of India regulated by Bhimtal
Salary: 25000+ HRA
Duration: 2yrs extendable another 3 yrs
2.Position:JRF (1)

Place of Work: Cold deseret of Himalayan region of India regulated by LEH, J&K
Salary: 25000+ HRA
Duration: 2yrs extendable another 3 yrs
3.Position: SRF (1)
Project: NSPAAD
Qualification: P.G in basic sc. With NET or graduate degree on professional course with NET or PG in professional course with min 2 yrs experience
Desirable: Working experience in the area of fish health and Microbiology
Place of Work: Bhimtal/ Champawat
Salary: 28000+ HRA
Duration: 1 year
4.Position: SRF (1)
Project:DBT sponsored “transcriptome profiling”
Qualification: P.G in basic sc. With NET or graduate degree on professional course with NET or PG in professional course with min 2 yrs experience
Desirable: Experience in operation of scientific equipment like Real time PCR, cDNA library Preparation, RNA isolation, Bioinformatics Software etc.
