DTU Nanotech at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Senior Research Scientist in Nanomedicine with focus on drug delivery.
About Department : DTU Nanotech is a department with the overall mission of contributing to research, development and education within micro- and nanotechnology and has a strong tradition for conducting applied research for the benefit of society. The Department actively contributes to basic research, where the aim is to develop methods and concepts as well as to enhance the insight in nanotechnology. Nanotechnology research goes across the boundaries between the traditional scientific fields. Within Life Science and biomedical engineering, the department is particularly strong within fields like drug delivery, nanomedicine, lab-on-a-chip systems and biomaterials science. The research is often carried out in close collaboration with industry and universities around the world.
Responsibilities and tasks : DTU Nanotech therefore seeks a Senior Research Scientist who can undertake a leading research role in drug delivery and nanomedicine within one or more of the following areas:
- Molecular transport in drug delivery
- Design and synthesis of drug delivery systems
- Biomaterial engineering for disease diagnostics
- Design of novel therapeutic concepts in drug delivery
- Supervision of PhD students
Qualifications : Candidates must
- hold a PhD degree or equivalent as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as Researcher or Postdoc.
- document didactic/pedagogic training
Further qualifications :
- Candidates should already have obtained a well-documented research output in international recognized journals within their research field. Employment implies original research at high international level within the above mentioned research themes.
- It is considered important that the candidate has a collaborative nature and a positive approach to challenges.
Assessment : In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to:
- scientific production and research potential at international level
- innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
- the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities
- experience in teaching and education
- the ability to promote and utilize research results
- an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
- the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation
