Established in 1889, the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is one of the premier research institutions dedicated to livestock research and development of the region. Today, the institute with its deemed to be university status contributes immensely to human resource development in the discipline of veterinary sciences with skills and knowledge necessary for the challenges of the new millennium. It awards degrees to master and doctoral programmes in more than 20 disciplines of veterinary and animal sciences, livestock products technology, basic sciences and extension education. To impart continuing education to field veterinarians, the institute also conducts diploma courses in veterinary preventive medicine, animal husbandry, veterinary biological products, animal reproduction, poultry husbandry, medicine and surgery, zoo and wild animal health care and management, meat and meat products technology.

Title of Project: Task Force on Himalayan Agriculture under the National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystems

Essential Qualification:

M.V.Sc/M.Sc./M.Tech in Extension education/ livestock production management/physiology/Microbiolgy/Virology/Immunology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry or other related Life Science disciplines.

Desirable work experience:

Minimum two years of research/work experience in a livestock related project is must. The program is running in three states (Uttarakhand, HP and J&K), so the incumbent is ready to travel to all these states as and when required. Working knowledge in cell culture, molecular techniques & sera collection from small/large animals and analysis of data with computer skills are desirable.

Emoluments: As per the DST norms

Age limit: 35 years (relaxation for women and SC/ST/ OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms)

Date/ Time & Venue: 09-11-15 at 11.00 AM in the chamber of HD Virology, IVRI Mukteswar

How to Apply:

Candidates attending interview should bring complete biodata, original and one photocopy of certificates, and two passport size photographs. The post is temporary purely on contractual basis for a period of one year (with a possible extension thereafter) and will co-terminate with the project, whichever is earlier as the case may be.
