National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH), formerly known as Institute for Research in Reproduction is a premier research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It is situated in the vicinity of a number of hospitals and research institutes in central Mumbai. Since its inception in 1970, it has been making vigorous efforts to improve the reproductive health of people through research, education and health care services. The Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai which awards degrees to the M.Sc. and Ph.D students in the areas of Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry and Applied Biology. The Institute is one of the few centers in India , which can boast of a team of basic, clinical and operational research scientists and state-of-art laboratories equipped with modern facilities to carry out research on various components of reproductive health. Research programmes have also been initiated in new emerging areas such as stem Cell Biology, toxicology and transgenesis. The Institute is a WHO Collaborating Center for Research and Training in Reproductive Health. Collaborations are undertaken with national and international organizations in a global effort to promote research and dissemination of information on reproductive health matters.

Essential Qualifications:
First Class Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences subjects from a recognized university with 4 years R&D/teaching experience in the above subjects after 1 st Class Master Degree.
OR
Second Class M.Sc. + Ph.D. degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology subjects from a recognized university with 4 years R&D/teaching experience in the relevant subject after M.Sc. + Ph.D.
Desirable Qualifications:
a. Additional Postdoctoral research / teaching experience in relevant subjects in recognized Institute(s).
b. Knowledge of Computer Applications.
c. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Reproductive Biology.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years
Duration of Project: Initially one year

Terms and Conditions:
1. Age relaxation for SC/ST up to 5 years and 3 years for OBC. PWD/Ex-Serviceman candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC communities will have to furnish certificate from prescribed authority in the required format failing which they will not be entitled to the concession admissible to them if any.
2. Age will be reckoned on the last date of online application.
3. Qualification/degree should be from a reputed Institution/University.
4. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee for selection.
5. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
6. No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
7. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department / Organizations are not eligible.
8. Separate application form should be submitted for each post along with application fee by Demand Draft (DD)/Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) in favor of Director, NIRRH, payable at Mumbai. SC/ST, Physically Handicapped (PH) and women candidates are exempted from the application fee. Demand Draft (DD)/IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
