This Institute came into existence on 1st April,1976 when the India Centre of JALMA was officially handed over to the Govt. of India and subsequently to the Indian Council of Medical Research. This was named as Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy in 1976 and has been renamed as "National Jalma Institute of Leprosy and other Mycobacterial Diseases" in 2005 to reflect its broader research areas.
The Institute has state of the art facilities like BSL-3 labs, DNA chip lab, Proteomics Lab, all well equipped laboratories, modern hospital and well set Field Programmes at Ghatampur as well as Agra. The Institute has established its leadership in all important aspects of leprosy and mycobacterial research. The Institute is participating in and co-coordinating several multi-centric studies on Leprosy and Tuberculosis.

2. Post: Project Asstt/Research Assistant

Qualification/Experience:
Graduate in Science/Biology from a recoginized university with one year DMLT course or three years diploma in engineering [or any relevant required discipline] from a recognized institution.
Or
Graduate with one year relevant experience in the lower grade or one year field/lab experience from a recognized institution.
Desirable: M.Sc in Life Science with working experience in tuberculosis laboratory.
Monthly Remuneration: 27,945/-PM [Fixed]
3. Post: Project Technician-III/La bTechnician
No of Positions: 1
Qualification/Experience:
12th pass with Science subjects with two years diploma in medical laboratory technology [DMLT] and one year experience in recognized Institute.
OR
12th pass in science subjects with oneyear DMLT and oneyear laboratory experience in a recoginzed organization as ‘Technician ‘B’ or two years field/ laboratory experience*or Animal House Keeping in Govt. recoginzed Organization.
*B.Sc degree shall be treated as 3 years experience.
Desirable: Working experience in tuberculosis laboratory.
Monthly Remuneration: 23,122/- PM [Fixed]
4. Post: Laboratory Attendant

Desirable: Experience in biological sample collection from field settings.
Monthly Remuneration: Rs 15,200.00 fixed per month.
