The Institute was established in 1935 as the first non official centre in to carry out basic biomedical research and was taken over by CSIR in 1956. CSIR-IICB today, by its mandate , is engaged in research on diseases of national importance and certain biological problems of global interest.

- Desired Profile :M.Sc in Botany or Microbiology with at least 55% marks and one publication in SCI Journal.
- Experience : At least two(2) years of post M.Sc
research experience in Microbiology or Biochemistry.

- Stipend: Rs.18,000/- p.m. + HRA as per admissible.
