The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is an autonomous institution supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Short-Term Training
Six month training opportunities
National Institute of Immunology, Delhi
The Institute provides opportunities for outstanding students to carry out project work under the supervision of the Institute’s scientists towards partial fulfilment of their postgraduate degrees (of at least SIX months’ duration; session I: July-December; session II: January-June). The minimal eligibility criterion for consideration of the requests is first division or an equivalent grade (or at least 60% of aggregate scores) in all major examinations starting from the secondary school examination onwards. Following procedure should be followed by interested students:
- Students who are pursuing masters degree (e.g. MSc, M.Sc, MTech, integrated masters students in their 4th year etc.) may apply.
- The requests must be forwarded through the Heads of Departments, and must provide the academic resumes of the recommended student(s) clearly specifying percentage marks obtained at various levels and the
subjects covered, as well as the period of proposed project work.
- Every department can forward a maximum of two requests.
Note :
- Applicants must mention their broad area of interest and/or names of NII scientists s/he would like to work with. If individual names are provided SEVEN names in order of priority may be given. This will help us in choosing the right laboratory for the selected students but there is no guarantee that the student will always get to work with the chosen scientist.
- Training opportunities can be offered only during the two time periods mentioned.
- Applications for January-June slot will be accepted only from 15th August to 15th September every year and only selected students will be informed by 31st October. Applications for July-December slot will be accepted only from 15th February to 15th March every year and only selected candidates will be informed by 30th April. Late applications will not be considered.
