Job Title: Senior Research Associate
Eligibility: Masters in Science with major in Plant Pathology/Plant Breeding/Genetics/ Microbiology/Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology /molecular biology/ Agriculture
Experience: 4-7 years
Job Description:
- Developing innovative plant pathology screening assays, high-throuput disease screening and precision phenotyping
- Executing large scale phenotyping experiments for various plant diseases (laboratory, greenhouse and field). Play key role in the team to identify and validate new resistant donors/genes
- Supporting the discovery pipeline by multi-seasonal disease phenotyping of large set of germplasm
- Providing pathology related trainings to team members
- Plan new experiments in consultation with manager. May exercise limited technical discretion in design, execution and interpretation of experiments
- Ability to do trouble shooting for experimental failures
- Summarize experiments, manages and analyzes data
- Prepare reports to manager and coordinate with multi-site collaborators, and occasionally presents results to larger audiences
- Handle multiple projects and prioritizes individual tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Maintain or improves efficient daily work place operations.
- Be proactive in ensuring that all the required reagents/chemicals for lab work is stocked adequately. Work beyond own groups-takes initiative
