Panjab University has been incorporated for the purpose, among others, of imparting education in Arts, Letters, Science and the learned professions and of furthering advancement of learning, the prosecution of original research, with power to appoint University Professors, Readers and Lecturers, to hold and manage educational endowments, to erect, equip and maintain University colleges, libraries, laboratories and museums, to making regulations relating to the residence and conduct of students and to do all such acts as tend to promote study and research.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the position of a Scientific Assistant (one), purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. Besides, carrying out his/her own research work in the domain under the Centre, the Candidate will assist the Centre Coordinator in Equipment Procurement Maintainance & Operations, Surveillence of Research Fellows, writing manuscripts for publication, reports and grant applications, office & record maintainance, etc.

- Desired Profile : M.Sc./M.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, molecular biology, Biophysics, Human Genome Studies, Physics, Chemistry, or Material Sciences from a recognized University/Institute; M. Pharm./M.S. in Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Quality Assurance &
Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Technology, or Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from a recognized University/Institute; M. Tech./M.E. in Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or Biotechnology from a recognized University/Institute
- Preferred : UGC-NET or GATE or GPAT Qualified; Minimum of 60% marks both at Graduate and Master’s levels. Ph.D. in the domain of Nanotechnology-based Applications in Biomedical Sciences, or Nanomedicine, or Medical Nanotechnology, or Nano-based Drug Delivery. Candidates, who have not submitted their Ph.D. thesis till the time of application, need not apply.
- Stipend : Rs 40,000 per month (Fixed); Plus HRA
Others :
- Research experience in the relevant domain
- Published work in high impact journals, and/or patented work of high standard
- Experience of handling Instruments like Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope, Particle Size Analyzer, HPLC, and handling animal cell culture studies, etc.
- Age of 35 years or less on date of interview
