National Research Centre for Banana was established on 21st August 1993 at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu by ICAR, New Delhi with an aim to increase the production and productivity of banana and plantains through mission mode basic and strategic research approaches. The Centre works on four major thrust areas of research viz., Crop Improvement, Crop Production, Post Harvest Management and Crop Protection. It has well-equipped laboratories for tissue-culture, bio-technology, soil science, nutrient management, physiology, Biochemistry, entomology, nematology, fungal, bacterial, viral pathology and post harvest technology research.
Walk-in-Interview for the selection of Contract Scientist (one post) and Technical Assistant (One post) on contractual basis under the newly sanctioned DBT project entitled “National Certification System for Tissue Culture Raised Plants (NCS – TCP)” is scheduled to be held on 20.05.2015 (Wednesday) at 11.00 AM. The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

- Desired Profile : First class in M.Sc.(Agri.) specialized in Plant Pathology or Agricultural Microbiology or BiotechnologyM.Sc. (Biotechnology / Microbiology / molecular biology)
- Preferred : Expertise in isolation of RNA / DNA / Protein extraction and performing PCR, RT-PCR, elisa and NASH.
Candidates attending the Walk-in-Interview should neatly type the application in the format prescribed in MS-WORD – TIMES NEW ROMAN FONT – 12 SIZE and submit the same along with attested copies of educational qualifications, experience and publications etc. at the time of attending the Walk-in-Interview. Original certificates should also be brought for verification at the time of Walk-in-Interview.
