The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution aided by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute's establishment coincides with the 50th anniversary of India's independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The formal announcement was made on November 30th 1997. This Institute has already placed India among the major contributors to plant genomics.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions in the DBT project entitled "Understanding the molecular intricacies of Rice-Rhizoctonia interactions" under the supervision of Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR.
- Position : Research Associate-I
- No of Post : One
- Desired Profile : Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in any discipline of Life Sciences with strong publication records are eligible to apply. The candidate should have a good academic record and research experience. Candidate having research experience in the area of plant molecular biology/plant-pathogen interaction will be given preference.
- Emoluments : As per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
- Position : SRF
- No of Post : One
- Desired Profile : Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech Degree (with minimum 60% marks in masters) in any discipline of Life Sciences with at least two years research experience are eligible
to apply. Candidates having experience in plant microbe interactions/biotic stress related research or experience in handling next generation sequencing based genomics data will be given preference.
- Emoluments : As per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
